  1. What a rich field!

    A thing I learned quickly was that babies are not entirely helpless entities but have definite opinions about what they want and what they need. This was a great relief, because it meant that the parents and baby were in this together.

    A thing I trained myself in was that some traditional minor taboos should be put aside. For example, why shouldn’t a baby be allowed to bend or fold playing cards if they feel like it? A pack of cards is a small sacrifice. and rest assured that the child won’t carry this habit into adulthood. And what if they do?
