Picture Book Reminds New Parents They’re Doing Great

Sydney couple have launched a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to fund a small print run of their honest, funny picture book You’re Doing Great, Baby.

Jeff Edwards and Beth Taylor have written and illustrated the picture book they wish they had when their eldest son (now five years-old) was a baby.

The book with it’s rhyme and colourful pictures is designed so when parents read it to their babies they are reminded just how great they’re doing during those overwhelming first months.

Background
The couple began work on the book after the birth of their second son a year ago. Beth suffered from postnatal depression and struggled with breastfeeding with both children, so she has compassion for parents and all the challenges they face (along with all the joys).

You can read the finished book online.

Praise for the book from Pinky McKay (author and lactation consultant):

“What a sweet book. A gentle little read to reassure new parents, you aren’t all alone with these confusing feelings as you get to know your new little baby.”

The book makes an ideal baby shower or new baby gift, and is a great conversation-starter for people wanting to have real conversation about the challenges of parenthood.

The You’re Doing Great, Baby Kickstarter campaign runs throughout the month of August 2015. To see a preview of the book and back the project, visit www.doinggreatbaby.com/kickstarter.
